During the early 70s, Enrique Beltrán rented the space and called it Teatro Carrusel. He regularly presented many Spanish productions. 

Throughout the 1980s, the space was used as a cinematheque and as a theater. In 1992, it was the theater for Teatro Avante until 1996 when Mario Ernesto Sánchez and César Soto, director of Astor's Cinema in Coral Gables' Laguna Street, joined forces and the space was shared between the Alcazar Cinematheque and Teatro Avante.FN 

A principios de la decada de 1970, cuando se llamaba Merry Go Round Theater (que quiere decir Carrusel), el productor ya fallecido Enrique Beltran lo alquilo para teatro y monto Mi Querido Charlie, con Velia Martinez; Mujer de Trapo, con Minin Bujones; Las Mariposas son Libres y Quinto Cielo a la Derecha (donde trabajo como actor Mario Ernesto Sanchez).
