Dade County Auditorium - 1970s

Introduction
     In 1971, Las Máscaras presented the first dramatic play in Spanish, La dama del alba. The 2500 seat auditorium was almost full and it received ample press coverage in the Spanish media.

art deco inspired  In fact, it is also one of the oldest bases for performing arts in the city. Its history of art and culture is rich; it was the first place to provide a platform for opera productions, theatre shows, ballets, music concerts, symphony orchestras, religious sermons and even college lectures and other events that need such a venue. For people who lived here, it became a place where they gathered as a community for things of common interest—be it art and performance or sermons and lectures.
