CONCLUSION

Since the 1980s performance artists both in Cuba and in the diaspora have delved into the medium as a transformative gesture. They have participated in and shaped cultural policies as well as gender, sexual, and racial politics. Performance art has dared to question power and officialdom on and off the island. Whether presented live or in digital platforms, performance art has been effective in pushing the limits of artistic freedom and transforming aesthetic boundaries.
