The Iranian American Jewish Federation: Services Available for the Community

One of the most consistent contributions the Iranian American Jewish Federation provides for the community is weekly Shabbat and annual High Holiday services, which are held in Temple Beth El. In order to better cater to the diverse community, IAJF has unified the two cultures and now provides these religious services in both Farsi and English. The federation additionally has Bar/ Bat Mitzvah and wedding ceremonies, which are particularly useful for the Iranian Jews that appreciate the availability of these services in Farsi.

The federation is also well known for hosting assorted seminars throughout the year. These seminars typically vary in subject matter, but are geared toward discussing and solving the issues that the Iranian Jewish community often encounters. These include discussions regarding religion, issues pertinent to the security of Israel, lectures on the history of Jewish religion, Hebrew and group Bat Mitzvah classes, special Shabbat dinners, celebration of Holidays, and presentations to increase awareness of mental and physical diseases. The Iranian American Jewish Federation is proud to announce that people from the Los Angeles area and of all ages are welcomed and encouraged to attend these discussions.
