Shulamit Gallery: Significance and Impact on the Los Angeles Community

Shulamit wants her art gallery to serve the purpose of exposing the Los Angeles community as a whole to the emerging and established artists being displayed. She believes that through these artists, the Los Angeles community can become more knowledgeable and educated in cross-cultural contemporary art. In addition, she believes that both the Iranian Jewish community along with other Angelenos can greatly benefit from her art gallery in similar ways. As many Iranian Jews reside in areas such as Beverly Hills, Westwood, and the San Fernando Valley, Shulamit Gallery gives them the chance to be exposed to the art world in Venice. Many Iranian Jews have a lack of knowledge and exposure to both contemporary art and to the business potential of areas such as Venice. With this art gallery, she hopes to impact them in a way so as to show that areas such as Venice can be used not only recreationally, but also as a potential business location. Similarly, Shulamit Gallery can impact other Angelenos, by exposing them to new and innovative contemporary art. In addition, this gallery aims to inform the Los Angeles community of the Jewish culture and heritage. Both communities are given the chance to open their eyes to new and unfamiliar ideas.
