Shulamit Gallery: Difficulties

Shulamit agreed that many difficulties were presented when opening Shulamit Gallery. While there are a lot of unknowns in this field, not having formal education in the art world was a disadvantage. Although she does not have a masters degree in the field of art, what encouraged Shulamit to continue with her passion in contemporary art was knowing that she was not the only one. Many people in the business of art do not have a masters. However, she read a lot about Los Angeles, art in general, and specifically opening up a gallery, which helped her as well. Another challenge Shulamit faced was the lack of knowledge the community has in the field of contemporary art. She found that many people, including Iranians, know a lot about classical or impressionist art, which is much better known to the art world. Conversely, there are fewer people who have knowledge about contemporary art. Although Shulamit faced these difficulties, she was encouraged that she would learn more about the art world and be able to inform others about contemporary art as well.
