Mastaneh Moghadam: Paving Her Own Path

Mastaneh reflects back on her career path in social work and realizes that she never filled out a physical application for a job that had a particular title. She was one who continuously “paved her own path” as she created her own job descriptions and went from there. Mastaneh advises students to do the same in cultivating their passions to grow into self-created careers. Mastaneh used her psychology degree and experience to fuel her passion for addressing social justice, beginning with the Iranian Jewish community. Similar to how Mastaneh and her husband created “Boback and Friends” to help the children of families outside of her own, Mastaneh hopes to extend her social services to other communities who suffer from the same injustices that exist within her own.
