Clip: Video 2: (21:15-22:56)

Shahla Javdan is the president of the Iranian Jewish Women’s Organization. She first became associated with the organization when her mother became of the first board members of the Iranian Jewish Ladies Organization when it was first founded in Iran. Shahla was exposed to the organization as a young girl and helped her mother revise her speeches for events. Shahla's mother was her inspiration and hero for her leadership role in the organization and for her generosity in giving back to the community. Shahla aspired to follow her example, as she watched her mother's contribution enable women to evolve from housewives to a more integrated and respected position in society.

Shahla Javdan is a philanthropist and is dedicated to serving the community through fundraising for many local and national organizations. Previously, she served as the first woman president of the Iranian American Jewish Federation. As president of IJWO, Shahla Javdan plans and organizes the banquets and galas that raise money for charitable organizations in Los Angeles as well as Israel. She also hosts board meetings and runs programs for the community.
