An international popular tax and debt revolt that puts tax money into direct community needs instead of loan payments (Ireland, Nicaragua, India, Greece, Portugal, Chile, Haiti and others) forces the World Bank to withdraw economic restructuring programs and cancel debt. A solidarity movement develops in the U.S. calling for a shift in funding away from prisons the military, and the war on drugs.
