A 1994 episode of the situation comedy Seinfeld parodied Schindler’s List while raising questions about the extent to which watching the film was treated as an experience that stood apart from the pastime of going to the movies.  In this episode, Jerry Seinfeld is reviled by his friends and families after he was caught necking with his girlfriend during a screening of Schindler’s List—that is, behaving as though it were an ordinary movie.
