Animal Use/Abuse
Is the pigeon use being qualified based on an understanding of animal rights on a spectrum?
Of course it is! Honestly, there are people out there that think domesticating animals (i.e. putting a dog on a LEASH and taking it for a walk) is inhumane, unnatural and allows the animal none of its own rights. I think it must be considered, were the pigeons being put through any sort of physical/mental/emotional stress? If not, it seems as if they were just serving humans as search dogs serve humans; for a specific end goal purpose.
