Kirsi Crowley
Kirsi Crowley produced this multimedia website as her thesis project on the Specialized Journalism Master’s program in the Annenberg School of Communications and Journalism at the University of Southern California (USC). The platform and story telling were inspired by studies at the Institute for Multimedia Literacy at the USC.
Kirsi Crowley has worked as a producer at the BBC World Service in London, and as a foreign correspondent for Finnish broadcast and print media in Africa, Asia and Europe for 15 years. She has reported on conflicts, humanitarian emergencies, and politics from many countries including South Africa, Sudan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Pakistan, Turkey, Iraq and Afghanistan. Prior to studying at USC she worked as a magazine journalist in Finland. Her motivation for enrolling in USC was to enhance and update her multimedia journalism skills.
Kirsi also holds a Master's Degree in Journalism from the University of Tampere in Finland.
