Ralph
Mid way through the spring semester, our community had a very hard blow; one of our most committed and passionate members had a heart attack and was hospitalized for over a month. His recovery has been very slow and challenging. I went to visit him in the hospital several times, but it was really hard to keep track of him in the bureaucracy of the medical system and the transitional housing system. He lost his bed at the house he was staying at when he went into the hospital, but luckily we were able to ask for assistance from Sister Mary and Sister Theresa to help find him a place again when he finally got out of the hospital.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see him when he got out because he was in a house where everyone needs to go through an orientation before they can visit people, and I wasn't able to do that with my school schedule.
Happily, Ralph was able to make it to the Encuentro and be a part of our dialogue with the community. When he got there, he immediately went to work creating Changing Ways signs for the evening. Having him there was the highlight of my evening.
