Double Challah Zomicks Recipe

Cake with bananas and hazelnuts

Ingredients:

  • 250g butter, softened
  • 200 g sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 500g ripe bananas
  • Juice and zest of ½ lemon
  • 250g plain flour
  • packet of vanilla sugar
  • packet baking powder
  • 250 g toasted, ground hazelnuts

Preparation:

  1. In a mixing bowl mix well butter, sugar and vanilla sugar until the mixture becomes foamy, and until the sugar dissolves. Add the eggs one by one, stirring constantly.
  2. Add the bananas and the lemon juice to the butter mixture.
  3. Finally, add the flour mixed with baking powder and ground hazelnuts.
  4. Sprinkle the cake surface with flour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 200 C.
  6. Bake for about 45 minutes until the surface of the cake gets golden brown color and check with a toothpick if the cake is baked completely.
  7. When the cake is completely cooled sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.

Preparations:

Dough:

  • 4 eggs
  • 12 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 dl oil
  • 1 dl milk
  • 12 tablespoon flour
  • 1 baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons of cocoa

Cream:

  • 5 dl milk
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 10 ounces coconut flour
  • 10 tablespoons sugar


Instructions:

  1. Prepare the dough: Mix eggs and sugar, gradually adding oil, milk and flour with baking powder. Divide it into two parts. In the one half add the cocoa, pour into baking pan and bake the dough. Coat the half-baked dough with the prepared cream and pour on to the rest of the yellow cake. Bake cake until the end. If you like, you can garnish it with chocolate frosting and sprinkle with coconut flour.
  2. Prepare the cream: in the milk boil down flour, sugar and coconut flour. Briefly boil the cream and pour the hot half-baked biscuit.
