The scene from House of Cards shows Claire Underwood as persuasive like Lady Macbeth in trying to get what she wants. In one of the episodes of House of Cards, we can see how her persuasion/ manipulation when she convinces Gillian Cole to come work her. Cole is a woman with strong convictions who wants to help the underprivileged by working with not-for-profits even if it means foregoing a six figure salary and health benefits. Like Lady Macbeth is successful in her persuasion, Claire gets Cole to sign a contract and compromise her convictions to come work for her with a good salary and health benefits.
