Thanks for your patience during our recent outage at scalar.usc.edu. While Scalar content is loading normally now, saving is still slow, and Scalar's 'additional metadata' features have been disabled, which may interfere with features like timelines and maps that depend on metadata. This also means that saving a page or media item will remove its additional metadata. If this occurs, you can use the 'All versions' link at the bottom of the page to restore the earlier version. We are continuing to troubleshoot, and will provide further updates as needed. Note that this only affects Scalar projects at scalar.usc.edu, and not those hosted elsewhere.

The work is an interactive fiction made in Twine, but is different from the traditional Twine story for its usage of unique music, background and bright colored font. As the creator described, the story was a silly, over-the-top power fantasy. The player is able to play the role of a noble who was exiled by his own planate and have a fasinating adventure with his/her friend. The interaction between the player and work is simply reading the text and selecting the proper option according his/her own will. Quing’s Quest VII: The Death of Videogames provided a lot of details of the interactions between the main character and his/her friend.
Different choice in the game, just like in real life, will drive the two's relationship into different directions which could be romantic or hartwarming. The theme of the game was meant to respond the accusation that calling for diversity and feminism in the game has ruined games. Through the delibrate utilization of tone and dictions with sarcastic connotation, Dietrich Squinkifer has elevated the game to a new leval that projects some serious social issues reflected from the tension between gamers and the identification of a game. Quing’s Quest VII: The Death of Videogames does not only demonstrate how the actions impact personal relationships, but also pushes players to reconsider the complicate interactions and relationships among various identity groups in the society.
