Relationships and Decisions

Orange Sweatshirt Page 2

The first picture here shows the poem in its "original" state, before the reader has made any adjustments.

The second picture shows the poem after the "adjective" meter has been turned from 3 to 4 and the "eroticism" meter from 3 to 5.

This shows a realistic part of real life relationships, with people second-guessing their communication with the other people in the relationship. Are they not being expressive enough? Are they possibly being creepy? Perhaps they should dial down the eroticism. Perhaps they should use more adjectives, just so the person really knows what they mean and how they feel. Based on the assumption that this poem was ultimately meant to be read by the love interest, it seems that there is a similarity between the reader's actions in the story and what they would possibly do in real life, because the poem is made to be almost completely bendable to the will of the reader. Thus it is a safe assumption to make that the reader would edit this poem until they feel as comfortable with it as they would if it was their own poem, expressing their own thoughts.
