Meg Pearson Portfolio

Meet Meg Pearson

Margaretann (Meg) Pearson is a soon-to-be graduate of Arkansas State University with a history degree, museum studies certificate, and experience in the public history and historic preservation fields.  An active student, Meg has spent time not only studying, but giving back as she joined the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority chapter, served as the Panhellenic Board's Vice President of Philanthropy, and founded a club on campus named A-State Circle of Sisterhood, which raises funds and awareness to send girls around the world to school and give them the gift of education.  She also dedicated herself to her future career through an internship at the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum in Piggott, Arkansas where she aided the museum in tours, maintenance of items, and events while representing Arkansas State and its History Department.  Interviews with Meg published on the History Department's Facebook page can be found here:
Along with her internship, Meg has aided in the survey work for downtown Forrest City, historic preservation projects on the Montessori School of Jonesboro, and written in-depth research papers on topics ranging from prostitutes in the 1910's, medieval England and its culture, and an architectural history of buildings in her hometown of Campbell, Missouri.  Meg is looking to continue her experience in the historic preservation and heritage studies fields through museum and historic home work while working toward gaining her master's degree in historic preservation.  In her spare time, Meg enjoys visiting museums, historic homes, touring through historic downtowns and neighborhoods, going on nature walks, going to philanthropy events with her sorority sisters, and spending time with animals.
