Idealism in E-Lit

Introduction

Idealism.
Idealism can mean many different things in different situations. These works display many variations of idealism; from the classic utopian world to an individuals progression in self-improvement. Evolution is an AI that attempts to copy the style of 19th century writer, Johannes Heldén, by studying his works and slowly modifying itself to become a blend of human and machine. This amalgam questions what idealism really is and can be. Animalia is the story of four animals pretending to be a human child to protect their home from human invaders. The players idealism influences the story and it's multiple ending. Captain Geriatric is a story that takes place in a far more ideal world that ours where elderly superhero, Captain Geriatric, is tasked with stopping crime in his town of Dumpleton. Fate/Stay Night is a story revolving around a mythical war, and a boy in that war and his ideal to become a superhero, but in the end that ideal will change or be removed, and how the boy reacts to the war and his own growth.
Will highlights the pursuit of idealism in Evolution, while Bryan discusses the consequences of such a pursuit through Fate/Stay Night. Campbell focuses on how players choices affect a work of literature to make it more or less idealistic, through Animalia. Finally, Madhav analyzes the idealism of the characters and setting in Captain Geriatric, and how this can influence players to look at the real world differently.
