Police and Security Services
The Police and Security department offers:
- Self Defense Training for students including [35]
- Safe Ride which students can request seven days a week between 7 p.m. and 3 a.m. to be driven by a security officers around campus, as well as surrounding areas. There is no information regarding number of cars and drivers [35]
- Walking Escorts in which students can request 24/7 to walk with students if they feel uncomfortable walking alone [35]
- the CWRU Shield App which is a free phone application that, "helps Case Western Reserve University police respond to emergency situations quickly and with more accuracy than ever before." [35] It works to allow students to:
- emergency call to the nearest 911 communications center
- share their location with friends
- send photos and videos (including crime tips, suspicious activity, etc.) directly to CWRU Police
- call a safe ride
- track campus shuttles
- provide an interactive campus map
- have access to directions for various types of emergencies
- have access to a mental health counselor
