Ideally you would record in a sound treated room, meaning a room that has things like acoustic tiles for absorbing reverberation and that keeps out or significantly reduces outside sounds. I will be approaching this as if you are recording in your office or home, however, since there are many more considerations that need to be made in those spaces. I will be using Audacity and my laptop and various mics.
