Woman Life Freedom Uprising

E.E

My name is E.E. I am an Iranian American raised by two Muslim immigrant parents in Texas, although I am not particularly religious. I am fascinated by cooking my favorite Persian food to cook is Khorest Bademjan and my favorite food to eat is my maman’s Dampokhtak. I like to garden, ride my bike, and, explore nature in my free time. I like to read books about fashion, art history, and design. Whenever we would visit back home I ravaged my grandmother's photo albums, having always been obsessed with knowing who I came from. My lineage is almost entirely merchant until 2 generations ago. I am fascinated by the intersections of art, culture, and politics. To understand my heritage I want to unpack the culture that my parents and their parents experienced.

My commitment to Women, Life, and Freedom comes from the frustration of being distant from the pain of my people and our homeland. With a lot of my family still living in Iran, I can lay a claim to my ethnic heritage. As a believer in the collective liberation of all people from the shackles of oppression, understanding intersectionality can inform our vision for the future. As someone who is Trans, Iranian-American, and Queer my understanding of the world at large is shaped by these experiences and these interests.
My top song from 2024:
