Toku Shimomura Diary 20

Sep. 9
It was cloudy in the morning but the weather changed into the usual dusty conditions around noon. We could not open our eyes and mouth… The speed of the wind increased and we were not able to see in front of us. I didn’t want to mention this but I would like to offer a grudge word to the government. I heard that during the process of internment of the Portland people, a mother was seen crying, holding her child.
