Kayde's Story: Mass beef production has been quite the controversial topic. On one hand the public somewhat recognizes the effects of production on the environment, however on the other hand the public doesn't want to lose their sirloin steak, The truth about mass beef production is misconstrued and far more complicated than two black-and-white sides. A number of problems arise from climate change, deforestation, dwindling water supply, various health effects, and raises ethical concerns. Dr. Heather Fields uncovers truths about red meat as she explores the effects of mass beef production on the environment, and on the effects of red meat on health. With small choices, we can make big changes.

The schools in the city of New Bedford sought the help of Zeo Hansen-Dibello a renowned programming manager who later became the visionary of Grow Education a program whose goal was to make more healthy and affordable food accessible to the numerous communities in New Bedford. Second Video Story: Environment + Red Meat Production I wanted to focus on many aspects of mass beef production. In this video story I focus on the environmental effects of mass beef production. I found this video very informative, and a great general overview on the environmental effects of raising, and feeding cows for slaughter.

I am an ASAP Science fan. I was excited when I saw this video. What if everyone decided to go vegetarian? A lot of the videos I feature on this page focus heavily on Methane gas, however, ASAP Science raises the concern of water consumption and addresses that even though reducing our intake of red meat is becoming somewhat of a trend, many other countries actually increased their intake of red meat recently. It's interesting to hear what would happen if that "what if" came true, and how we could possibly take some of the aspects of this "what if" and make it a reality.

This video is very dramatic. Although climate change and the toll of mass beef production is a very serious concern, the music and effects in the video is a bit over the top. However, this video is very informative and I especially enjoyed the tidbit on how mass beef production is a very ineffective way of producing food. In my video stories I try to exposed why its not the most efficient way of producing food, it's detrimental for our health, earth, and ethics.

His video stories were about mental health and making sure that people get the things they need, whether that be therapy or food access. It's important that people are able to get food they need and treatment they need.

This video brings together the present and past generations of cultures and shows how the present generations depend on past ones for cultural values and traditions.

As I've been reflecting on the history of lynching in the US and connecting this to the theology of James Cone, the theme of courage has jumped out at me. The courage to tell the ugly stories that are apart of our history that no one wants to talk about. While giving recognition to our history it is important to identify the ways the same patterns of injustice may be happening to date.

Indira:
I want my video story to lean towards the message of how youths should have a voice when it comes to the changes that get made in schools and the government. Youth are often discriminated against because of their age, but age shouldn't be the reason you stop someone from making a change that they are to be impacted by.

Seun:
My video stories talked about the importance of finding local resources such as community gardens if people live in food deserts or just like fresh food in general. I talk about how important it is to not throw out food in order to help our economy.

Most of my video stories are based on the Community Meals. People and organizations came together to explore ways their organizations and communities could creatively cultivate a stronger community food system. And finding ways to provide fresh vegetables and fresh greens for the community.
