To put it very vaguely, the change I would like to make in the world is to make other's happier and help them manage their mental health. I would like to become a mental health therapist. It has been a career choice of mine for quite some time, but didn't become my main one until a certain event in my life happened. On December 18, 2017, the person I looked up to most in life (and still do), committed suicide. The pain I've experienced from this event changed me forever. I don't want others to experience the pain I felt going through that event. Recently, another person I admired committed suicide on October 14, 2019. It has been a hard recovery, but both of these events really opened my eyes. Another reason I want to do this is that I deal with my own mental health issues and never had the opportunity to go to therapy until going to college. If I can help at least one person, it will be worth it.

If you or a loved one is feeling suicidal or mentally unwell, here are a few hotlines for the United States of which are all free and confidential.
