Thanks for your patience during our recent outage at scalar.usc.edu. While Scalar content is loading normally now, saving is still slow, and Scalar's 'additional metadata' features have been disabled, which may interfere with features like timelines and maps that depend on metadata. This also means that saving a page or media item will remove its additional metadata. If this occurs, you can use the 'All versions' link at the bottom of the page to restore the earlier version. We are continuing to troubleshoot, and will provide further updates as needed. Note that this only affects Scalar projects at scalar.usc.edu, and not those hosted elsewhere.

It is considered one of the most important cultural institutions in the city of São Paulo and is located on Avenida Paulista -- one of the most important avenues in the city where the headquarters of many cultural and financial institutions are located. Itaú Cultural was founded in 1987 with the goal of mapping and cataloging cultural and artistic manifestations. It has several permanent exhibitions as well as temporary exhibits that rotate through the institute. The institute also includes several theatrical spaces for film screenings, theater productions, dance performances, and music shows. Most of the exhibits and events at the institute are free or low cost.
Teatro Terreiro Encantado performed Auto do Negrinho in the Multipurpose Salon at the Itaú Cultural Institute from October 12-14, 2018. The performances were free to the general public.
