Letter 13: Wilde to Tafani, 2 June 1877
2 June 1877
Merrion Sq
Dear Arturo,
A week or two of fishing has restored me immensely. Being thrust from Oxford was an undignified occurrence, but I have overcome it quite perfectly. That little purple island is always so refreshing. And it is with that in mind that I can say with confidence that a spell of travel is just the necessary balm for these last moments of your translations. The ending of a work can be such a nervous time. But I fear in Dublin you would feel the burden of having travelled west when everything of great interest is to the east of Us. {Well! Might not my own interest be in Dublin?}
Do send me some of your latest poems, if you are able. {3? Which?}
Yours,
Oscar
