Klara du Plessis is a poet residing alternately in Montreal, Canada, and Cape Town, South Africa. Currently, she is working on a book project, a multi-disciplinary show of poetry, jazz and dance, and the text for an a cappella choral work. Recently, Klara wrote the libretto for chamber opera Photo Socrates (composer Clio Montrey), which was premiered in Vienna, Austria, October 2012. She hosts and curates the monthly Résonance Reading Series, a platform for original writing and other text-based projects. Klara holds a MA degree in English Literature, with a focus on twentieth-century poetry, from McGill University.
