"Only a Little Acorn"

Only a Tiny Acorn (1910): Written by Harriet M. Bennett, music by Arthur Henry Brown (author of “If”), “Only” is another sweet message for children about their importance in doing good.  Centered on the analogy of a “tiny acorn” disparaged by both the “wind and the rain,” the acorn grows up into a giant oak (v. 1).  In the same way, “only” a kindly action, “done by a child,” and questioned by a “busy world” who never notices, will be seen by “that One [who] saw the action given: “He said that of such is the Kingdom of Heav’n” (v. 2).

In the same way, some of our youngest singers (1st grade) were joined by some of our older singers to help them with the difficult melody in order for this important message to be sung.
