Tags are links. When a piece of content, i.e. a page, tags another piece of content, a relationship is established. Tags are non-sequential. A path, as I will discuss in the next section, encourages reading a set sequence of pages (e.g. the reader embarks on a path about, say, issues of physicality in ballad-making, and is lead along a linear sequence that goes from papermaking to fleshly ballads to bodily performance). Tags, in contrast, are not organized according to a sequential fashion. At the bottom of, say, a page on ballad writing, readers might find tags that lead you to other pages and each of these tags do not necessarily relate with the other tags of this ballad writing page. So, while tag A, tag B, tag C are related to ballad writing, these tags themselves may bear no direct relation with each other. Whereas the constituents of a path sequence are directly linked with each other, the individual tags for a page do not have to be.
