Reading the Bible with the Dead

Timeline of Deborah

Barak was not as full of faith as Deborah and asked Deborah to go with him and she agreed to come along, although she told Barak that victory would belong to a woman(Gen 4.18). Sisera heard of the attack and he summoned an army of 900 and they went towards mount Tabor.

When Sisera's army of 900 men was approaching, the Lord routed them into Barak’s sword and they were slain. Sisera escaped by foot and hid in the tent of Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite because Jabin and the house of Heber had an alliance. He asked for a drink and Jael gave him milk. While he was asleep Jael grabbed a hammer and a tent peg and drove it through Sisera’s temple and killed him. The land had peace for forty years because of the brave act of Jael who decided to align herself with Barak's army.
