Reflection
Moving forward, it’s important to support platforms that allow Chicana women to raise their voices against machismo and patriarchy in the Mexican family. Creating programs and spaces where Chicana women can meet, talk about feminism/history, and support each other is an additional way that we can counter the Calisphere narrative. Chicana women should have total control of how their history is being represented, and should have access to radical perspectives on gender and cultural identity. Therefore, putting Chicana scholars in conversation with these radical self-defined Xicana feminists on Tumblr is crucial to fostering Chicana empowerment. Juntas, or together, Chicana bloggers and scholars can work towards celebrating "bad ass" Mexican American women of both the past and present.
