In my exhibit, I presented a short summary of El Teatro Campesino as a group, followed by an introduction of La Carpa de los Rasquachis. For my first media object, I curated a sequence of standout moments where mobility was restricted in the piece and offered the audience a chance to see a few of those moments. I then followed up by presenting my map, where I explained the rationale for each of the choices I made in the locations I plotted as stops along the protagonist’s migration journey. Lastly, I presented a subset of Jon Lewis’ photographs from 1966, which I curated to emphasize performance rather than other political activities. I played them in a slideshow alongside music by El Teatro Campesino. While I think that my introduction could have used more background information, and perhaps a narration on the images for greater analysis would have allowed the exhibit to function more fully as an analytic piece rather than just a sort of “show and tell.”
