Collection Description
Collection of different adhesive stamps issued by a variety of governmental and non-governmental organizations throughout Republican Spain. The stamps contain text in Spanish or Catalan and most are uncancelled. Issuers include: municipalities, regional governments and councils (e.g. Generalitat de Catalunya); the Republic itself, anti-fascist and defense committees, labor unions (e.g. U.G.T., C.N.T.), political parties, youth organizations, and other specialized anti-fascist organizations. Images were digitized from original stamps held by the UC San Diego Library.Metadata Schema
