Bagheera found Mowgli and brings him to live with the wolf pack. Later it is Bagheera who takes Mowgli through the jungle to try to get him back to the man village. Bagheera feels responsible for Mowgli. Mother wolf: Mother wolf is Mowgli's adoptive mother in the wolf pack. She protects him the best that she can while also caring for pups of her own. But even her mother's love in not enough to keep Mowgli safe and he must leave the wolf pack with Bagheera to seek out the man village. Baloo: Baloo takes over Bagheera's role as Mowgli's mother when they get separated in the movie. In the book Baloo tries to help Bagheera convince the wolf pack to keep Mowgli.
