Rouhani in New York - Isolated and Dead End Regime
The news web portal of MEK Iran informed that after carrying out an act of war attacking the oil facilities of Saudi Arabia, the president of the Iranian regime, Hasan Rouhani, went to New York with a ridiculous "Hormuz Peace Plan", hoping to obtain more concessions from the other side.
The Iranian regime thought it could blackmail the international community with terrorism and warmongering, and win the lead. He did not realize that, since the appeasement policy has failed, these actions would have an adverse effect. The world saw that concessions made to the regime through the 2015 nuclear agreement, known as the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan (JCPOA) failed to improve the regime's behavior and rather encouraged it to continue its terrorism (missile attacks and drone attacks). In other words, it is now clear that this regime does not even have the ability to accept France's generous solutions.
As it has been reported on the MEK Iran news web portal, on a trip to the United States, almost a year and a half ago, the president of France proposed a plan to prevent the United States from withdrawing from the Nuclear Agreement. Based on this plan, the Iranian regime had to accept negotiations on its ballistic missile programs and its regional interference, but the regime refused, effectively turning France's plan into a failure.
Therefore, while the General Assembly of the United Nations was underway, the three European powers, Great Britain, France and Germany, in a joint statement, condemned the role of the Iranian regime in the attack on Saudi oil facilities, stating: "It is clear to us that Iran has responsibility for this attack. There is no other plausible explanation."
In addition, UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said in a September 25 statement: "Iran's violations are not mere technical violations of international rules; they are serious and systemic destabilizing actions that undermine the rule of law. These actions must have consequences. “On the attack on Saudi oil facilities, Mr. Raab said: "We are now sure that Iran was responsible ... this behavior amounts to an armed attack against Saudi Arabia, a violation of one of the basic principles of law".
In contrast to Britain's previous position, the Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom stated that the Nuclear Agreement "was never designed to address our long-standing concern about Iran's broader destabilizing behavior in the region."
He added: "Iran's terrible human rights record remains a serious concern for the United Kingdom" and "Iran's record of respect for the basic norms of international law is unfortunate and is getting worse."
In his speech to the General Assembly on September 24, the president of the United States, Donald Trump, made a distinction between the Iranian people and the mullahs' regime, stating: “The citizens of Iran deserve a government that worries for reducing poverty, ending corruption and increasing employment, not stealing your money to finance a massacre abroad and at home. "In describing the mullah’s regime as the main state sponsor of terrorism in the world, he said: "As long as Iran's threatening behavior continues, the sanctions will not be lifted, they will be increased. In response to Iran's recent attack on Saudi oil facilities, we have just imposed the highest level of sanctions on the central bank and the sovereign wealth fund of Iran. "
It is important to note that, after the General Assembly, the EU sent a message to the Iranian regime that if it fails to fulfill its commitments under the terms of the Nuclear Agreement the next month, the EU would also withdraw from the agreement, which would mean its end.
“In New York it was seen that the mullahs regime was more isolated than ever, and Rouhani returned empty-handed. His trip showed more and more clearly the dead end that the mullahs face. The regime cannot comply with international standards and stop its nuclear and missile projects and its war in the region because that would lead to its internal collapse. However, it is not capable of resisting an explosive society, greater international sanctions and organized resistance. This is a deadly stalemate from which the regime cannot escape” reported the MEK Iran news portal.
