MEK Iran's Supporters Demonstrate for "Free Iran" Outside the Warsaw Summit

12:55: Senator Ryszard Majer, a prominent member of the Polish Senate and vice-president of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the PIS party, addresses the MEK Iran demonstration "Free Iran" in Warsaw:
"We respect freedom and solidarity. Are these values important to you? Yes, every nation needs freedom and solidarity, freedom to decide for itself. Also in Iran. Freedom for the Iranian people is necessary for the whole world.
As a Polish I understand this. For many years there was no freedom of assembly, no freedom of speech, for all those who wanted change. Today I admire all the efforts of Maryam Rajavi who works for solidarity and well-being in Iran.
These actions are very important, they are conducted in a peaceful manner. I met people who work with her, who are committed to change. For them, respect for life and solidarity are not just empty words. We can talk about the future: looking back, thanks to your efforts, your nation will be free and democratic and also full of solidarity. A free Iran is necessary for all of us. The world needs a free Iran. "

12:40: Former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani addresses the MEK Iran rally "free Iran" outside the Warsaw Summit:
"It is a great honor for me to be here with you to make a very important point for the representatives of the governments participating in the Warsaw Summit. For peace and security in the Middle East, it is necessary to replace the theocratic regime in Iran. That must end. The Iranian regime is the greatest source of discord. Praise Maryam Rajavi for her courageous leadership in the fight for a free and democratic Iran. The ayatollahs' regime is the number one sponsor of terrorism, not only in the Middle East, but in the whole world.
The Iranian people have the right to freedom and democracy. They have the right to be free. We will soon reach the dream of seeing Maryam Rajavi in a free Iran. We have the answer to who will be the alternative to the regime. Maryam Rajavi has prepared a 10-point program that we should support. "

12:30: A video message from Iranian opposition leader Maryam Rajavi is broadcast at the MEK Iran rally "Free Iran" outside the Warsaw Summit.

12:20: Marcin Święcicki, a member of the Polish parliament, a former mayor of Warsaw and a former minister for economic relations, addresses the demonstration. He is also a supporter of the Iranian Resistance and members of the MEK Iran in Ashraf. He says:
"The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) movement has a 10-point plan that, among other things, requires the abolition of the death penalty. We want to see the establishment of peace and democracy in Iran. "

12.10: The demonstration of MEK Iran supporters is underway in the Polish capital outside the Warsaw Summit. There are cries of "Democracy, freedom with Maryam Rajavi".

12:00: Responding to an Albanian journalist's question about the expulsion from the Iranian regime's ambassador from Tirana of his role in terrorism against the MEK Iran, the former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani states:
"I have great respect for the Albanian government. They welcomed many people (from the MEK Iran) and saved their lives. In Iraq, the regime was slaughtering them.
There was a plot in Albania to carry out an attack with explosives against the MEK's Persian New Year celebration, and this led the Albanian government to expel the Iranian ambassador.
The same thing happened in France in June; there is an Iranian diplomat arrested in Germany who is now in prison in Belgium for this plot. I think we should expel all diplomats of the Iranian regime for these acts of terror. "

11:55: Senator Zbigniew Cichoń, of the Polish PIS party, says in a press conference:
"We Poles have a special attitude towards the Iranian nation, because during the Second World War it took care of thousands of Polish soldiers crossing Iran. They were received with great hospitality.
Now the Iranian nation must gain its dignity and be a fully free nation. We must give the Iranian people the help they need to achieve freedom of human rights.
Thousands of Iranians are in jail for claiming their rights. Even the lawyers who defend them end up in prison. All Poles are in solidarity with you."

11:50: Senator Ryszard Majer, vice president of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Polish Senate, says at the NCRI press conference outside the Warsaw Summit:
"Respect for the rights of Iranians and the freedom of the Iranian people are necessary for the whole world. As a Polish, I understand this desire. For many years we lived under a dictatorship. The prisons were full of political prisoners who wanted freedom of expression.
Today, Maryam Rajavi wants to bring freedom and democracy to her people. In this movement, respect for human rights and freedom are not just empty slogans. "

11:45: Former US Senator Bob Torricelli says at the NCRI press conference outside the Warsaw Summit:
"The Iranian people want a regime change. They are good and talented people who should not be condemned to live in poverty and repression. I congratulate the Warsaw government on its courage in holding this conference. The Polish people have never abandoned the desire for freedom and won, so will the Iranian people. "

11:40: Former Algerian Prime Minister Sid Ahmed Ghozali told NCRI's press conference outside the Warsaw Summit:
"We are here as messengers of peace. We want the stability of the Middle East and all neighboring countries. The main threat comes from state terrorism by the Iranian regime, and we see that violence in countries like Iraq, Syria and Yemen.
So we're here to support the Iranian people. This weekend marked the 40th anniversary of the fall of the Shah dictatorship. The Iranian people got rid of a dictatorship but entered a worse dictatorship, that of the mullahs.
The Mujahedin-e Khalq movement has more than 50 years of resistance. We have seen many sacrifices and over 120,000 of them have been executed by the mullahs' regime. The sacrifice of the Iranian people is not just for freedom in the Middle East, but for the whole world. "

11:35: Marcin Święcicki, a member of the Polish Parliament, a former mayor of Warsaw and a former minister for economic relations with foreign countries, said during the NCRI press conference at the MEK "Free Iran":
"I am here to support the democratic opposition in Iran. I have already attended some Iranian opposition rallies in Paris and, as Mayor Rudy Giuliani said, the regime has tried to carry out terrorist acts against these gatherings.
Poland has had to fight for its freedom, and the Iranian people are doing the same. That's why we support the democratic opposition in Iran against a regime that is repressing its people.
We support Ms. Maryam Rajavi's 10-point plan, equal rights for men and women, rights for minorities, freedom of religion and freedom of choice.
I am sure that this struggle for democracy and for the abolition of a regime that does not respect human rights will be a success. "

11:30 am: Rudy Giuliani speaking at the NCRI press conference at the MEK "Free Iran" demonstration in Warsaw said:
"Iran is the number one sponsor of terrorism in the world. We should not do business with a regime that supports terror. The Warsaw Summit should focus on how we change Iran. How can we change the behavior of that regime against its people. The regime tried to hit with bombs the last two gatherings for free Iran in which I participated. The last one was in Paris.
We believe that the alternative to this regime is Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, and this organization, the MEK Iran, is at the center of that movement. We want to see a non-nuclear Iran. A free Iran. So that the Iranian people can get their country back. We want to see a democratic Iran. Not a monarchy, not a dictatorship of the mullahs. "

11:20: Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani talks to journalists before the NCRI press conference "Free Iran" outside the Warsaw Summit.

11:00: Iranian opposition activists play drums at the MEK Iran "Free Iran" rally before the Warsaw Summit.

09:00: Supporters of the Iranian opposition Mojahedin of the People (Mujahedin-e Khalq, MEK Iran) and of the NCRI will hold a large demonstration in the Polish capital today in support of democratic change in Iran, while key members of the international community participate in the Warsaw Summit focusing on Iran and its destabilizing role in the region.

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, former Algerian Prime Minister Sid Ahmed Ghozali, former US Senator Robert Torricelli and several members of the Polish House and Senate are among the speakers at the event.
Poland and the United States co-host the "Ministerial Conference to Promote a Future of Peace and Security in the Middle East" in Warsaw on 13 and 14 February.

The demonstration of the MEK Iran supporters will echo the voice of the Iranian people for a regime change by the population and its organized resistance. It will show support for the 10-point plan of Iranian opposition leader Maryam Rajavi for a free republic based on the separation of religion and state, gender equality and a non-nuclear Iran. Iranian protesters will declare that the NCRI coalition, headed by Maryam Rajavi, is the democratic alternative to the mullahs' regime.
