Coronavirus Outbreak in Iran: As Death Toll Approaches 10,000, Khamenei Foolishly Blames the United States

The coronavirus outbreak has so far claimed the lives of 9,600 people, according to reports published by MEK Iran, but the supreme leader of the Iranian regime, Ali Khamenei, instead of acting, blames the United States.
On March 22 Khamenei brazenly said: “First, (the United States) faces a shortage in its own country… if you have something, use it yourself. Second, they allegedly produced the virus. One must be crazy to trust that they will bring medicine. Your medications can spread the disease even further or make the virus permanent. Or, if you send a doctor, you may want to closely test the toxic effects of the virus you created. Because it is said that, given the knowledge about Iranian genes, part of the virus has been created especially for Iran."
These comments show Khamenei's despair and expose the regime's inhuman nature. They also make clear that the regime has no intention of helping coronavirus victims.

Earlier this month, regime president Hassan Rouhani, who had previously suggested that the crisis will end before March 7, 2020, ridiculously stated: "We have passed the peak in Qom and Gilan, our two most difficult points ... Gilan 20% of hospital beds are empty ”.

In this sense, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and leader of the MEK Iran Resistance Units, said: "Khamenei's superficial and demagogic ramblings reflect, in addition to his cruelty towards (Coronavirus) patients, his despair and the passivity that emanates from the deadly stagnation that surrounds the regime and the concern for popular uprisings. While this disaster spread through Iran and the number of victims continues to grow, Khamenei did not offer any solution, not even a promise to help people."

The Iranian regime, particularly Khamenei, spread the coronavirus through Iran for its criminal cover-up and inaction. The regime denied the existence of the virus in order to have a much greater participation in its false parliamentary elections. In this regard, the regime's interior minister, Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli, said: “Some recommended delaying the elections and insisted on delaying the elections in Qom. But as an official in charge of the elections, I refused to approve these recommendations.” Their confessions confirmed that the regime was fully aware of the existence of this virus, but decided to cover it up. In a related matter, the regime never stopped its flights to China, the epicenter of the virus. Mahan Air, affiliated with the Revolutionary Guard, has been flying to China, while other countries have canceled their flights.

The United States Department of State also reacted to Khamenei's comments. In a press release on March 23, they said: "Supreme Leader Khamenei's fabrications regarding the Wuhan Virus are dangerous and put Iranians and people around the world at greater risk."

Referring to some facts, demonstrating how the regime helped spread the virus in Iran, the State Department said: "In February, Iran's main terrorist airline, Mahan Air, made at least 55 flights between Tehran and China, still infecting more of the Iranian people." The first cases of coronavirus from at least five foreign countries were imported directly from Iran, putting millions more lives at risk. The Iranian regime ignored repeated warnings from its own health officials and denied its first death from the coronavirus for at least nine days. The regime continues to lie to the Iranian people and the world about the number of cases and deaths, which unfortunately are much higher than the regime admits.”

Referring to how the regime rejected any foreign aid to help victims, the US State Department added: "As Iranian regime officials request more funds, it is important to note that since 2012, Iran has spent more than $16 billion in terrorism abroad, and used the Nuclear Agreement sanctions relief to fill the chests of its terrorist satellites. Regime officials stole more than a billion euros for medical supplies and continue to accumulate desperately needed masks, gloves and other medical equipment for subsequent sale on the black market.

The US sanctions do not target imports of food, medicine and medical equipment or other humanitarian goods. Iranian documents show that their health companies have been able to import test kits unhindered from US sanctions since January."

All this proves that the regime is the real virus and the problem and, as long as it continues its command, the coronavirus outbreak will not be controlled in Iran. As Ms Rajavi, leader of MEK Iran and president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), said: “Khamenei's stupidity over the production of the virus by the United States is a desperate attempt to cover up the regime's incompetence to deal with the disease and the criminal role of the mullahs in the explosive spread of the virus across the country and divert people's anger and disgust towards the United States. But these justifications no longer work and only exacerbate people's anger."

In fact, the regime is concerned about another popular uprising. In this regard, the Asra group of experts, close to Khamenei, wrote in a report: “With the spread of the coronavirus across the country, the shortage of health and hospital equipment was quite evident, and widespread hoarding was taking place in these areas. This led to market turmoil, rising prices for these products.

With the spread of the virus, rising prices and a shortage of products in the coming months could lead to looting of stores and pharmacies."
