Dear Mrs. Morton
I received your letter this morning. I am rather sad and oh how I wish you were only in New York. If there was only a way. If I had only the means I would make you come, but with only few dollars a week I can do very little, Is there really no way possible? Mama is so anxious for you to come here. She is quite fond of you from what I have told her about you and the picture. Besides if anything happens to you, it is awfully untasteful of me to say that but it is the only way I can express myself, but you see I would take charge of Nondas and she would be in good hands with me and want for nothing

that I have in my means to let her have. Whether he works or not the court would make him pay and then he would have to trouble about work menial work or otherwise. I am going send Nondas a pair of milliners silk stockings which I washed but are too small for me. They are perfectly new and I hope you do not mind I sent the shoes off and a piece of material for a practice dress. I am going to fix those photos up too now and send them off. I am never bored with your letters but am very pleased with them. As Nondas did not choose which photo she wanted I will send her dancing poses. Last Saturday we had a Supper party after the show with Pavlova and she presented Luida with a 9 stone Diamond horse shoe in commemoration of her 5 years in the Company.

And on Monday a few of us dance at the Biltmore after the show with Pavlova in "Save a home Fund." X has a lovely apartment and 3 servants they have everything in big style a motor car and 6 or 7 thousand $ a week. Ruth sees very little of "X" X does not attend the classes but practices by herself. Ruth just has to hop along for Clue pays no attention to her she is getting quite big and developed now. She seems to me to be a very shy and sad little girl. I have not had any conversation with her so I really do not know what could have caused her Mama's death. Only one of the girls said "How is your Mama Ruth" and she said "Mama died 3 months ago." It was very sad. I do not think it is

[p. 4]
possible for me to get the Pictures of either Pavlova or Volinin for Nondas as they do not come forward with them at all. Well I must close my letter now as it must bore you very much but I have to get ready to go to the Hippodrome again. Please give my love and Kisses to Nondas. I will write and send her a note with the stockings. I do hope you feel better. Please do not worry so cheer up and write to me again soon.
With Love and Kisses
from your friend
