40.1A. Translate each of the following into English.

2. štəŋístxʷ u cxʷ cə ʔən̓sqáx̣aʔ.
3. t̓k̓ʷísc caʔ st ʔaʔ či kʷáči.
4. təčístəŋ u yaʔ cə sʔíɬən ʔaʔ cə ʔən̓tán. 
5. ƛ̓čístxʷ cn cə nəsnə́xʷɬ.
6. k̓ʷə́nəsc či ʔaʔ cə tálə.
40.1B. Translate each of the following into nəxʷsƛ̓ay̓əmúcən.
1. You didn’t feed your friend.
2. I walked our dog yesterday.
3. Will you sink the canoe?   
4. Did your friend bring you here?
5. My father took us home.
6. Did I show you my new ring?  
          (‘show’ = ‘cause to see’)
40.1C. Make five sentences that combine causatives with the patterns in §39.2. For example, níɬ kʷaʔčaʔ nəsxʷʔəɬənísc  ‘That’s why I fed you.’
