In that moment I could not think of any useful response. I agreed and after five minutes she left for her room and I stood on the patio and fought against the fog that spread in my brain. Of course she was right, and for myself I often had similar thoughts. But is that it? Then why should we bother at all?
And I found a golden thread in that day. The two guys in the plane, ignoring merely everything, the people at the demonstration, fighting against ignorance but ignoring their own technology usage, and in the end me, ignoring the analogy of experience-based and description-based perceptions of long-term risk in both smoking and global warming.

I now kind of rallied those events. But I still am very concerned about this topic and trying to do more research in this special field. And there have been other days, different days that gave me hope and stimulated my commitment for scientific research.
