Luke's Annuciation

The angel Gabriel's visitation  of Mary to announce the birth of Jesus or the "Annunciation" is perhaps the most memorable and famous aspect of Luke's gospel.  It is the most obvious way in which Mary is the real star of Luke's infancy story.  Recall that in Matthew it was Joseph who was the recipient of this news.
