Aoyama Masaharu


AOYAMA Masaharu  青山正治
1893–1969

Alternate Names: Aoyama Seiji (青山正治)

Aoyama Masaharu studied at the Tokyo School of Fine Arts and worked in the Imperial Household Museum. He belonged to the sōsaku hanga (創作版画) movement and produced self-carved woodblocks prints. However, some of his later works were printed with the assistance of publisher Ishiyama. His work was best acknowledged through the Teiten and Nihon Sōsaku Hanga Kyōkai exhibitions.
