1. Sign in to your Scalar account.


2. Click "New" at the bottom to create a new page; this page will become the annotation.


3. Enter the title, description, and content of the page.


4. Next to the text reading "To make this page an annotation," click "specify media that it annotates."


5. Select the text file you want to annotate.


6. Enter the starting and ending lines of the annotation.


7. Click "Save."
