All things considered, the movie Frozen establishes the reality of the struggle through a symbolic article of clothing. With the glove Elsa wears, it comes to embody her personality and cover up her true self. While she attempts to “conceal” her powers in order to protect the ones she loves, the gloves represent an imprisonment of her powers and emotions (A. Lee). Holding in these feelings creates a constant internal battle and reflects in her overall persona as someone who is distant, cold, and unfriendly. Essentially, “only an act of true love can thaw a frozen heart,” relinquishing Elsa’s restraint and confinement into freedom of using her powers freely, embracement of her true self, and the happiness of finding true love (J. Lee).
