1830 Revolution
In 1830, Charles X was the King of France and they were going through a major recession. There was major inflation on bread and there was around 64,000 Parisians without stable employment, and many people had to resort to crime.
There was some major issues between Charles and the new chamber of deputies because the chamber of deputies believed in a constitutional style of government. Charles then issued a coup d' etat, dissolving the Chamber. This also got rid of freedom of the press along with reforming electoral law.
Many Parisians had issues with Charles' actions and this started an uprising. The chamber of Deputies refused to give up their power and the French army, who was supposed to come in to put an end to the uprising, started to withdraw from Paris. The people had completely taken over and King Charles was forced to advocate and flee to England.
The chamber of Deputies made a declaration which stated:
"France is free. Absolutism raised its flag and the heroic population of Paris put it down. Paris, when attacked, has by arms caused the triumph of the sacred cause … A power which had usurped our rights and disturbed our repose, was threatening both liberty and order; we resume possession of order and liberty…. We shall secure by law all the guarantees necessary to render liberty sure and lasting”(Guizot).
The deputies also tried to reconstitute the government, which had an open throne which was filled by Louis Phillpe.
This ended the Bourbon Monarchy that lasted more than`250 years.
This uprising was known as the "Three Glorious Days"
