Introduction

The German theologian Abraham Friedrich Rückersfelder translated James Macknight's A Harmony of the Four Gospels: In which the Natural Order of Each is Preserved: with a Paraphrase and Notes into Latin as Commentarius harmonicus in quatuor Evangelia. He appended a preface condemning Lessing to the third volume of the translation. Pratje translated the preface and published it separately.
