Nicole on Big Community

"I don’t have any limits to my idea of community.”

Nicole’s understanding of community is informed by Cheng’s multicentric notions of identity.1 She talks about how there are different types and levels of communities that are always intersecting. She also discusses how “we are all living together and we are all doing things that affect each other.” This provides her with the recognition that she, as an individual, has the ”capacity to have limitless impact,” and that if everyone had a consciousness of this reality, that we all have the potential for limitless impact, the world would be a radically different place.

Her hope is that individuals will recognize how they impact each other, and recognize that we are “all inextricably tied to the welfare of others… I dream big. My community is big.”
