Michelle on Community in Daily Life

The notion of community, for Michelle, is ongoing and changing. The definition has changed over time for her. Where it used to mean only "larger ideas of community," she began to think more specifically about the communities in her daily life and the ways in which they serve as a support system for those involved in those particular communities. She felt that "improvising was a great way to have that connection with people who... didn't have the same agenda or skill set that I was working with." She liked the "unexpectedness" and the "discoveries that happened" in those interactions, and these were powerful moments in her life.
