Behind the Kitchen Door - Saru Jayaraman

"Behind the Kitchen Door" by Saru Jayaraman

"Behind the Kitchen Door" is a book about restaurant workers and the Restaurant Opportunities Centers by Saru Jayaraman.

The trailer takes a journey through the workers in the restaurant food chain, problems they encounter and wages earned. Following the trailer is a TED Talk explaining the concept of tipped wage earners and what a NYC organization has achieved in the fight for restaurant worker rights.

As consumers we do not only buy food at a restaurant, we also buy service. Saru Jayaraman asks, "Do you eat ethically?"
